Summary of Outreach and Mission

We offer ministries for various generations.  We love for you, your family and friends to get involved!

Outreach Ministry

Outreach Ministry of the church shall give attention to ministries of compassion, justice and advocacy.  These ministries include local and global missions, Christian unity and inter-religious concerns.  The Outreach Ministry include the following teams.

• Relay for Life

Run                    Walk                    Jog                 Celebrate!
Relay for Life of East Gaston-Stanley, NC is supported by our" Rowdy2 Team".  Each year the team sponsors various fundraisers at the church to raise monies for the American Cancer Society.

Backpack Food Program-About the Program
The Backpack Weekend Food Program (BPWFP) provides children in need with nonperishable, individually-portioned, nutritionally-balanced food to take home in their backpacks on the weekend when school meals are not available.  Those students most likely to be hungry on weekend are identified by school counselors social workers, teachers, school nurses, and principals. Permission to participant in the program must be given by the child's parent or guardian; also any allergies must be identified.  Volunteers organize juice boxes, milk, cereal, fruit cups, ramen noodles, canned vegetables, crackers, peanuts and raisins into orders for individual schools that will last a month.  All of the food is  shelf stable and kid friendly with easy to open lids.
"Hunger doesn't take the weekend off"

The Prayer Shawl Ministry-

This gift was created especially for you with love and prayers,
May God who formed your being,
Who knit you together in your mother’s womb,
Who gave you the breath of life,
Renew you this day and give you hope to sustain you.
May this gift be a sign of Christ’s Healing Presence.
May it warm you when you are weary,
May it surround you with joy,
Grace you with peace and wrap you in love.
Let us pray in Jesus’ name. Amen

"Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can".   John Wesley
